It is best suited in an area protected from weather extremes. Preferred locations would include: under a patio, in a kitchen window, or under an eave on a house.
It is not recommended to be installed anywhere they may strike an object in high wind situations. The length of the chime set creates an opportunity for the bells to chip and break. In very high wind (storms) it is recommended to bring it indoors.
Ceramic wind chimes are heavier than regular metal ones, they will not move as much and will not make as much noise as metal ones. They are more visual decoration than sound decoration.
